AI for VFX — long format training
A 63-hour programme for experienced VFX professionals, delivered remotely in French, in small groups.
This training is designed for experienced VFX supervisors, technical directors, and senior artists who want to go beyond the basics and truly integrate generative AI into their production workflow.
The programme is developed in partnership with École Méliès and the CST, and is eligible for AFDAS funding.

What you will cover
The curriculum is updated regularly to reflect the latest tools and research. It is structured in five parts:
1. Foundations and image generation
AI ethics and legal context, setting up a generative AI environment, text-to-image fundamentals, and a full shot walkthrough from prompt to controlled output.
2. Video generation
Core video generation techniques, advanced inpainting, masking, and motion control.
3. Advanced workflows and 3D integration
Connecting generative AI outputs to VFX post-production pipelines, DCC integration, batch processing, 3D generation, and Gaussian Splatting.
4. Infrastructure and model customisation
LoRA training, cloud infrastructure, distributed workflows, and pipeline operationalisation.
5. Practical project
A mini-project applying everything covered throughout the programme, with a final review and skills assessment.
How to register
Registration is handled directly by the CST. You must enrol at least 15 days before the session start date.
AFDAS funding
If you work in the French audiovisual industry, AFDAS may cover all or part of the training cost. Submit a request through your AFDAS account, or contact the CST for guidance once enrolled.
